Guyanese trio Chandrapaul Hemraj, Sherfane Rutherford and Ronsford Beaton, were among the top performers on the opening day of the ongoing US T20 tournament on Tuesday.
Hemraj, who turned out for Somerset Cavaliers, nabbed 2-10 and recorded an unbeaten half-century to lead his side past Samp Army by nine wickets. Samp Army batted first and were restricted to 133-3 from the allotted 20 overs with Kunal Sehgal (61) and Sanjay Stanley (59) being the main contributors.
Cavaliers, in response, raced to their target in the 10th over for the loss of one wicket as Hemraj (50) and Kennar Lewis (61) proved to be too much for their counterparts.
Rutherford top-scored with 33 for 22 Yards who went down to Atlanta Paramveers by six wickets.
Meanwhile, Beaton on his return to competitive action nabbed 2-27 for Afghan Zwanan, who were defeated by Brampton Pacers by four wickets.
