Effective January 1st, 2021 Farfan and Mendes Ltd and Mines Services Limited (MSL) will enter a joint venture partnership with Canadian company, Crosbie Group Limited.
Farfan and Mendes in a notice to its customers said that it and MSL will be consolidating their operations under the name 2020 FMCG Inc.
This entity, it said, will be a joint venture corporation which has two shareholders: Farfan and Mendes Limited and Crosbie Group Limited.
The notice stated that Crosbie Group is a fourth-generation family-owned business located in St John’s Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It had partnered with MSL in February 2018 to form a new company, Panthera Solutions Inc which it says was recognised as the first Guyanese company to conduct business offshore in Guyana. Crosbie’s website says it “has a proven history of serving offshore oil & gas, marine construction, commercial construction and residential real estate industries”. The joint venture relationship had been hinted at by former Canadian High Commissioner to Guyana Lilian Chatterjee at the launching of the Canada-Guyana Business Chamber earlier this month.
