Planning for the inaugural `Big Man Cricket tournament’ is back on stream, according to the organisers. The tournament was scheduled to bowl off during the latter part of this year but a decision was made to postpone the tournament to 2021.
“The Big Man Cricket Guyana is pleased to announce the recommencement of planning for the domestic over 45 T25 tournament which will be held in Guyana during the period January/February 2021.”
“Firm dates for the fixtures will be released in due course. At our last meeting, the committee was strongly favouring a competition with eight strong teams rather than a depleted tournament with several teams. Our focus being more on quality and not quantity,” the release noted. The release also informed that the organisers were able to secure an attractive Man-of-the-Series prize which will add more interest in the tournament.
“Our committee is now especially pleased to announce that we have just secured the Man of the Series tournament prize of the popular Zanella 110cc motor cycle to be awarded to the most proficient player of the tournament. This prestigious prize was donated by Timothy Bhagwandin of Timothy’s Motorcycle & Spares Store located at 122 Regent & Oronoque Sts, Bourda, Georgetown.
There will be several prizes and trophies to be awarded at the end of this tournament.
