Forging ahead with their plan to make Guyana a regional hub, local airline operator Trans Guyana Airways (TGA) has announced the launch of flights between the Boa Vista-Atlas Brasil Cantanhede International Airport and the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Guyana.
In a post on the airline’s Facebook page, TGA said that the flights to Brazil are scheduled for three times a week beginning today.
“These flights will occur on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays in December and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from January onwards,” they said.
Flights in December will depart at 1.30 pm and 7 am while in January departure dates from Ogle are scheduled for 7 am on Mondays and 1.30 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The airline said too that flights will depart Boa Vista at 9.05 am on Mondays and 4 pm on Wednesday and Fridays.
Passengers will be allowed 20 lbs of checked luggage and 5 lbs on hand luggage, with the option to purchase additional weight.
At the launch of its service on the Guyana to Barbados route, Commercial Manager Alexandra Correia had said the airlines was looking to bridge the gap in travel and offer connections between Guyana and South America.
“This is a part of our larger plans. We are looking to form connections to the rest of South America. We have operations in Lethem already so we are looking to connect travelers with the rest of South America,” she said in November.
