Guyana’s budget for fiscal year 2021 will be presented on Friday, February 5th, sources close to the process say.
“As promised, next year’s Budget will be early and will be presented on February 5th,” a source told Stabroek News yesterday.
Asked about the shift from Mondays to a Friday, the source said that the PPP/C had traditionally used Fridays for presentation and it represents a “going back” to what was.
Due to the five-month political impasse, the Irfaan Ali-led government presented what it dubbed “an emergency budget” to cover mostly current expenditures for this year. Ali took office on August 2nd this year.
