Captain on station bail over death of wife, grandchild in river mishap

Riley Gill, the man who was arrested on Friday night after the boat which he was captaining capsized in the Lower Pomeroon River resulting in the deaths of his wife and two-year-old grandson has been released on $100,000 station bail.

This was confirmed by Police Commander of Region Two Crystal Robinson, who when contacted for an update told Stabroek News that Gill was released from police custody yesterday.

Robinson said the police will be seeking legal advice on the way forward in the matter.
