Police say they are investigating the murder of George Chuck-A-Sang, age 82 years a retired priest of Vlissengen Road, Lodge which occurred between 12/18/2020 about 08:00hrs and 12/21/2020 about 15:00hrs at the said address.
Enquiries, police say, revealed that the now deceased was living by himself in a two-story concrete structure. It was alleged by his daughter Renata Chuck-A-Sang, that on 12/18/2020 about 08:00hrs, she made contact with the her father via his cellular phone and they spoke as normal.
On 12/21/2020 about 15:00hrs, she called the victim via Whatapp and his phone rang out. She later then went to his residence but was unable to contact him. She then went to the residence of the current Priest Monsell Alves, of North-East La Penitence and she told him she was unable to contact her dad. As a result she along with the said priest went to her father’s home where Alves opened his office door , where her father was living and they went up an inner stairway to the upper flat of the house, where they discovered the body of her father lying motionless on the floor clad in a white brief.
What appeared to be seven stab wounds were seen about his body, police say. His forehead appeared to be swollen.The body was escorted to the Georgetown Public hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. The body is presently at Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem. Investigations are in progress.
