When the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) hosts the Under-19 tournament next year, Alvin Mohabir is expected to be a shoo-in for Demerara.
Despite many athletes facing challenges due to the impact of Covid-19, Mohabir did not miss a step. In fact, he looked a better player when he turned out for Georgetown in the Demerara Under-19 Inter-Association tournament recently.
After a near nine-month hiatus, the left-handed batsman steered the city side to victory in the first match with an unbeaten 72 while in the second match, he showed his value as a potent off-spinner with a five-wicket haul. Mohabir seemed set to cap an impressive tournament but was stopped in his tracks by the rain which foiled the final.
