A post-mortem examination conducted on the remains of David Barclay, the man who died after he jumped onto a moving car that dragged him, revealed his cause of death to have been multiple injuries.

Barclay, 29, of Triumph, East Coast Demerara, was dragged into several parked vehicles on D’Urban Street, Lodge, on Sunday after a row with the driver.

Police had revealed that Barclay approached the other man to have a tyre on his vehicle repaired. However, an argument ensued over payment and the other man took a knife and slashed a tyre on Barclay’s car.

The police further shared that the man subsequently jumped into a vehicle and began driving. However, he said Barclay jumped onto one of the front doors of the car and held him. As a result, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into several parked vehicles.

The police had said that Barclay fell onto the roadway and was taken to the Georgetown Public

Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The fatal incident occurred in front of the Serenity Bar on Upper D’Urban Street after the two men were in a heated argument over payment, an eyewitness said.

Another eyewitness had said he heard “loud cussing” but he did not turn back until he heard “about four ‘Baps’.” “What I heard was ‘I aint paying you nothing and you could do what you want’, but with nuff words I don’t want to repeat,” he added.
