Cricket West Indies’ Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams is seeing the positives amidst the gloomy situation after several key players opted not to tour Bangladesh. Adams believes that the silver lining in the skies is the opportunity for the young players selected to jumpstart fruitful careers.
During a zoom conference yesterday following the naming of the squads, Adams said, “In terms of this tour coming off [and] the circumstances with players not choosing to go is something I view as an opportunity first of all.”
He added, “I think the subcontinent has what I will call individual challenges over the years that a lot of West Indian players have actually almost made a name for themselves in touring subcontinent conditions pretty early and I look at a group of the players who will not have the experience obviously as some of them who have pulled out but I don’t think they are short on talent.”
