President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF), Levi Nedd, has been placed on a special committee of the South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV), which was set up to identify development initiatives in the region.
The Guyanese was named to the committee following his participation in the CSV first virtual Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly during October 2020.
In his new role Nedd will be able to make better representation at the South American level to advance the sport here.
“I did participate in the CSV, that’s the South American Confederation Congress… I am on the platform where we have to ask for certain assistance for the less developed countries and I did make representation for Guyana in terms of facilities and equipment and so on,” the long-standing sports administrator told Stabroek Sport during a recent interview.
Meanwhile, the staging of the first virtual Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly which Nedd attended, saw the re-election of President of (CSV), Rafael Lloreda, to serve a third four-year term after originally taking the role in 2012. He was unanimously re-elected for another term.
Nedd said he is hopeful for the return of some semblance of normalcy to volleyball activity in Guyana in the new year, once permission is granted by the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Task Force.
