Police are still working to positively identify the decomposed body of a man who was found dead in a Second Avenue, Bartica, Region Seven home on Saturday.
Superintendent Deon Moore, who is the Commander of Region Seven, told Stabroek News that a pensioner lived alone at the address but further confirmation is still being awaited.
Moore explained that the pensioner was last seen on Christmas Day walking around the community. There were no signs of forced entry at the home as it appears that the man died of natural causes.
Investigations are ongoing.
