Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) officers yesterday afternoon at Corentyne, Berbice seized fifteen parcels of cannabis amounting to more than eighty pounds.
A CANU press release stated that about 4 pm yesterday, acting on information received, officers proceeded to Dukestown, Corentyne, Berbice. It was said that the officers came across three men who were walking along a dam, two of whom were carrying “rice bags” on their shoulders.
The men upon spotting the officers dropped the bags then escaped into the bushes. Upon checking, the fifteen parcels of ganja were found.
Police are searching for the suspects.
