After being in and out of consciousness for approximately two weeks, city businessman Deodat Ramsamooj, who was struck down by a speeding car on December 26, 2020, is showing signs of recovery, his nephew Nathan Persaud said.
Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday, Persaud said that that his uncle was responding well to medical treatment and was expected to be moved to the ward from the ICU, where he was hospitalized subsequent to the accident.
The nephew also related that they are still having difficulties sourcing surveillance footage to aid in identifying the car and driver involved in the accident. He said that they have approached the New Thriving Restaurant but were informed that their cameras were not working and Palm Court has informed them that only a side camera is working.
