The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) was yesterday unable to kick start its preparation for the upcoming Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers in March due to a delay in receiving COVID-19 results for its players and officials.
“The physical evaluations and fitness tests for the senior men’s national team, which were scheduled to commence [Saturday], have been postponed. This is due to a delay in the turnaround of COVID-19 test results for the squad and staff,” the GFF stated in a communication.
“Under the protocols developed through the UEFA Assist “100-day Bounce Back” programme, training cannot begin until test results are received. We expect to receive further test results this weekend and hope to conduct the first wave of physical tests on Sunday. We will update you further in due course,” the release stated.
