(Trinidad Guardian) The Trinidadian Prime Minister has been discharged from West Shore Medical Hospital and is now at home resting comfortably.
Dr Keith Rowley was admitted to the hospital around 5pm on Friday after suffering chest pains. He was kept there for two nights and was discharged just after 9am today.
Dr Rowley underwent a series of medical tests including an angiogram and angioplasty procedure which “went well”, according to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister last evening.
The Prime Minister waved at members of the media as his security detail escorted him out of the hospital in a black Prado SUV.
A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister says Dr Rowley was assessed by his doctors and given the all clear to return home.
OPM also thanked those who sent messages of well wishes and kept the Prime Minister in their prayers.
Meanwhile, this morning the private facility issued a press release condemning an affiliated technician, who allegedly inappropriately leaked information on Rowley’s condition.
An investigation has been launched.
