A police officer was yesterday released on a total of $50,000 bail after he was charged with three counts of uttering forged documents.
Police Constable 24520 Omali Lloyd made his appearance before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, where the charges were read to him.
It is alleged that on two occasions the Constable produced sick leave from two doctors at the Linden Hospital and a leave form purportedly signed by an officer but they could not be verified as authentic.
Lloyd pleaded not guilty and was granted $25,000 bail each on two of the charges and self-bail on the other.
He was ordered to lodge his passport and report to the Wismar Police Station every last Friday of every month pending the completion of his trial.
The matter was adjourned until January 22nd, 2021 for filing of statements.
Lloyd was represented by attorney Gordon Gilhuys.
