Dear Editor,
There are lessons for Guyana in the mob storming the Capitol in Washington last week. Populism is a genie best kept in the bottle. Let out it will prove impossible to put it back in. The mob has liked to rule since 1789 in Paris. The PNC (one assumes the AFC is now all but defunct) needs to learn the lessons of constructive opposition in the national interest. There is a Covid crisis and a huge opportunity with oil to build a bright future.
Think of the nation (ex) President Granger. The past is another country.
Yours faithfully,
John ‘Bill
Cotton/Reform’ Mair
