A labourer was sentenced on Tuesday to 18 months imprisonment after he was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without being a lawful licence holder.
Jonathan McKenzie, 20, of Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, made his appearance before Principal Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him.
McKenzie who was arrested on Sunday following the discovery of the unlawful items, pleaded guilty to the charges before the court and was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment on each charge.
