The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) has submitted a list of 12 local coaches, one of which will be selected to participate in the PanAm Sports webinar conference titled ‘The language of Coaching: Communication for Elite performance’.
The course is being facilitated by local governing body, the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) and the deadline for submission of names by the respective member associations to the GOA is Monday.
The names submitted by the GABF feature individuals who are coaching at the national, club and school level.
They are Adrian Hooper (Eagles), Clement Brusch (Pacesetters), Darcel Harris (Ravens), Wilon Cameron (Colts), Warren Wilson (University of Guyana), Fabian Bacchus/Marlon Chesney (Plaisance Guardians), Mark Agard (Pepsi Sonics), Julian Haynes (former national female coach), Dennis Clarke (senior national assistant coach), Lugard Mohan (Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG)) and Leona Kyte (YBG Youth Coach).
Junior Hercules, national senior men’s basketball coach, during an invited comment, stated that it is the federation’s objective to increase the pool of qualified and skilled coaches locally.
“It is the Federation’s intention to increase the pool of resourceful coaches across the Guyana network. We hope the course will serve as a great tool in activating and propel our local coaches’ skillset.”
