The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) has rolled out its first initiative for the year, taking the new badminton format –Air Badminton- to one of the local secondary schools.

“The Guyana Badminton Association today launched the Air Badminton, the new outdoor at the St. Rose’s High School making it the second promotion since the first launch at the National Park two weeks ago,” the GBA stated in a release.

The GBA also donated a number of racquets, shuttlecocks and nets to help in the running off of the  programme.

“I am pleased that St. Rose’s sports coordinator, Alque Stanley, came on board with helping us to promote the Air Badminton and also help the students of St. Rose’s High School to have an interest in badminton, especially as some of them will be writing Physical Education for CSEC.

“Stanley has been part of this CSEC programme in the past few years,” GBA president Gokarn Ramdhani noted.

He gave the assurance that the introduction of the newly minted format was done under the COVID-19 guidelines.
