Deodat Ramsamooj, the city businessman who was struck down by a speeding car on December 26, and hospitalised for close to three weeks, has been discharged from the hospital.
Ramsamooj, the proprietor of USA Style and Fashion located on America Street, Georgetown, is currently at home recuperating but according to the man’s wife, he is confined to his bed and requires assistance as he is unable to move on his own..
Nonetheless, she said he is continuing to show signs of improvement. As a result of the accident, the woman said, he suffered internal bleeding, a fractured rib and hand, and a broken leg.
She explained that her husband is schedule to undergo a follow-up surgery to reset the fractured bones in place. However, this will be done at later date as his condition presently does not allow him to undergo another surgery.
Meanwhile, the wife lamented that they are still awaiting answers from the police as the driver is still to be apprehended.
She stressed that the police keeps maintaining that they are unable to identify the registration number of the car that was involved in the accident.
