A young motorcyclist is now hospitalised after he collided with a pick-up truck in an accident at Goed Fortuin Public Road, West Bank Demerara on Wednesday.
As a result of the impact of the collision, Zebbelon Cadogan, 20, of Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara, was tossed off his motorcycle, bearing registration CK 6554, and onto a parked car from where he fell into a nearby drain.
The Guyana Police Force said in a report that the driver of the pick-up has alleged that Cadogan collided with him as he was about to make a turn. As a result of the collision, Cadogan was thrown off of his motorcycle and into a parked car before landing in a drain close by. He suffered injuries about his body.
He was subsequently picked up in a conscious state and taken to West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a doctor. He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he was admitted.
The 27-year-old driver of the pick-up truck was arrested, police added.
