Founder and coach of the Berbice-based, Flying Ace Cycle Club, Randolph Roberts, was last Saturday elected president of the club at its Annual General Meeting held at his home.
Roberts, a former vice-president of the club, will also perform the functions of treasurer.
Former president, John Lewis, who served from 1992 up to this year, chose not to seek re-election at the helm of the body but took up the role of first vice-president.
Roberts promised his full dedication towards the development of the sport and the club while thanking the sponsors such as the Regional Democratic Council and Bounty for their continued support. He also expressed a desire to have a more fruitful year.
Outgoing president Lewis, expressed his satisfaction with the progress made while he led the club and indicated that he will be there for the club in any way he can.
Meanwhile, Senior Counsel and long serving member of the club, Marceline `Muchoo’ Bacchus was elected second vice-president.
Balram Narine was re-elected club captain and secretary of the club while former female national cycling champion, Marica Dick is the assistant secretary.
Ronda Russell will also continue as the club’s honorary member with Errol Alphonso also returning as Patron. The committee members are Fizal Ali, Eli Hazel, Pearl Arokium, Neil Reece and Myron Rose.
