A forty-year-old porter is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) having suffered multiple injuries about his body after he was pinned by a lorry on Saturday along the Toraturu Trail, Mazaruni.
The injured man is Odit Narine Persaud of Essequibo.
According to a police report, at about 1.30 pm on Saturday, the driver of the lorry, a thirty-year-old man of Bartica was descending a hill when he allegedly lost control of the lorry which turned turtle, pinning Persaud in the process.
Persaud suffered a fractured right leg, and abrasions about his body. He was picked up in a conscious state and transported to the GPH. His condition is listed as stable.
