Dear Editor,
In reference to the passing of Mr Philip Allsopp, I would like to state that here was a man who dedicated his long and fruitful life to our country and to the welfare of the people of Guyana – just one example of his competence and dedication is the building of the Linden Highway which still stands, solid as a rock, up to this day.
Mr Allsopp was a solid and resourceful engineer who could have found “greener” pastures elsewhere but instead, he chose to serve his country and to dedicate his life to living here. As one of our loyal patients, Mr.Allsopp and myself conversed on many occasions and I can attest to his loyalty and dedication to our country and its populace- if most of us could be a Mr. Allsopp, we would have a much greater country.
In conclusion, I would to express my great condolences to Susan and the entire family and to assure them that as Mr. Allsopp looks down from his heavenly perch there is that slight smile on his face, knowing that he gave his all for Guyana and his family – the confluence of which signifies a true Guyanese patriot. God bless his soul and keep him safe.
