Golden Jaguars international Ryan Hackett has swapped the Tucville ground and boyhood club Fruta Conquerors for Camp Ayanganna and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF).
Hackett, 21, who made the move during the ongoing transfer period, told Stabroek Sport that the decision to move to the army unit was based on several factors.
“It’s really a big decision. I just feel more of my future is at GDF because they have better facilities, gyms and doctors and there are also the financial reasons behind the move. I feel I could better focus on my game and work harder because I won’t have any distractions. I see this as a big move for me. That is the reason for moving,” said Hackett in the exclusive interview.
