The Ministry of Labour today said it is probing the workplace death of an employee of Edward B Beharry and Company, Mandela Avenue.
In a statement today, the ministry said that Mark Gomes, a resident of Long Pond, West Bank Demerara and a Senior Supervisor was fatally injured yesterday.
The Ministry said that reports stated that Gomes was investigating a hissing sound from a flour tanker when the cover of the left side pipe blew off hitting him and knocking him off the tank.
Roydon Croal, Senior Occupational Safety and Health Officer has begun investigations into the matter.
Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton has expressed condolences.
