In a bid to secure their first Regional Super50 title since 2005, the management of Cricket Guy Incorporated has enlisted the services of performance analyst, Dinesh Mahabir.
This is according to a release from the body yesterday which stated, “management has taken another substantial developmental step with the hiring of Dinesh Mahabir for the 2021 CWI CG Insurance Super 50Cup.”
The release added, “This most recent addition to the Guyana Jaguars management team is an indication of CGI resilience in ensuring that the Guyana Jaguars have the requisite tools to enhance player performance and team success on a consistent and progressive basis.”
The body said the decision to employ Mahabir was arrived at after recognizing the importance of a team review process which has significantly lent itself to an inherent value of a 360 degrees assessment and analysis.
“This decision allows the Guyana Jaguars to benefit from expertise that will assist the players to analyze and approach their game from a slightly different perspective,” the release stated.
Mahabir has, over a decade experience in the field, notably with the West Indies Under-19 side which won the International Cricket Council Youth World Cup in 2016 and West Indies Emerging Players who won the Super50 tournament last season.
The Australia High Performance Coach has also worked with West Indies Women’s senior side as well as recently piloting a historic online introductory course.
“The directors of CGI strongly believe that this investment will help to reaffirm the Guyana Jaguars as perhaps the strongest team in the region, an argument that can be strengthened with the lifting of the 2021 CWI CG Insurance Super 50 Cup title by the Guyana Jaguars,” the release stated.
Jaguars will play their first match on Monday against Barbados Pride.
