The Guyana Police Force is investigating the murder of Emanuel Solomon, age 20 years, unemployed of Lot 317 Belle West, West Bank Demerara, which occurred yesterday about 6.30 pm infront of the above mentioned address alleged by three males who are brothers of Belle West, West Bank Demerara.
The three have since been taken into custody.
Enquiries disclosed that Solomon and the suspects had a misunderstanding over a football game about eight months ago. Yesterday it is alleged that he was attacked and stabbed by the trio.
Following the incident, the deceased’s mother and public spirited persons picked him up and took him to the West Demerara Regional Hospital in a car where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced dead.
The body was then escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour where it awaits Post Mortem Examination.
Based on further information received, the Police went to the suspects’ home at Belle West, West Bank Demerara, where contact was made with one of the suspects who was told of the allegation and he stated under caution that on the date and time mentioned above, Solomon hit him with a piece of wood causing him to suffer injuries to his face and left hand.
As a result, he went home and complained to his other two brothers who returned with him and assaulted Solomon.
