Two police officers were on Monday charged with assaulting two civilians at Cinderella City, Amelia’s Ward.
Constables Roger Smith and Kevin Watson both appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, where they were charged.
Smith, who was represented by attorney Leslyn Charles, pleaded not guilty to assault causing bodily harm committed on Devon Trotman and unlawfully wounding Glen Eastman on the 11th October, 2020, in the vicinity of Cinderella City, Amelia’s Ward.
Meanwhile, Watson, who was unrepresented also pleaded not guilty to the same charge. The two were granted bail in the sum of $25,000 each and ordered to return to court on February 12th, 2021, when the matter will be called again for report and fixture.
