(Trinidad Guardian) A 32-year-old man was shot and killed in Freeport on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Amos Jack of Derrick Road, Freeport.
According to a police report, at about 3 pm Jack was at St Mary’s Junction, Freeport, when a gunman approached him and shot him in the face.
The gunman then ran off.
Jack ran a few metres away from where he collapsed in front of the Carapichaima Roman Catholic Church.
Several passers-by rendered assistance to him, however, he died shortly after he was taken to the Couva Health Facility.
Speaking with the Guardian Media, a close friend, Joseph Sandiford said he believed that jealousy was the motive.
Sandiford described Jack as the “kindest person one would ever meet, he would help anyone.”
He added, he did not deserve such a violent end.
