Several persons were taken into custody yesterday after the police conducted a cordon and search operation in the Plum Park, Sophia and Liliendaal areas.
According to the police, the exercise was conducted between 4:30 am and 8 am by a party of ranks.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) stated that a total of 848 grammes of suspected cannabis, a .38 calibre revolver, four motorcycles, electronics including a 65” TCL television, two laptop computers, a quantity of electrical and non-electrical tools, a pressure washer, a weeding machine, one motorcycle number $395,000 and a quantity of gold jewellery, all of which are suspected to be unlawfully obtained, were found during the search.
The police said the suspects have been placed into custody pending the investigation.
