A Linden businessman was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Brendal Halley, 23, of Linden, made his appearance before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on February 9, while at Surinamo Landing, Middle Mazaruni River, he had in his possession 1,024 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
He was subsequently remanded to prison for sentencing pending a probation report.
