Minister with responsibility for Finance Dr Ashni Singh today announced a reduction in water tariffs by 5% across the board for both commercial and domestic users.
He made the announcement in his budget presentation today.
Singh also announced that the VAT zero rate will be restored to essential food items such as wheaten flour, bread and cooking oil to ease the cost of living burden.
The zero VAT rate will be restored to key building materials including stone imported from CARICOM, locally produced pre-stressed concrete piles and locally manufactured roofing sheets and PVC products among others.
