The police have arrested a suspect in the murder of Kevin Smith, who was stabbed to death during an attack at his Sophia residence on Monday.
When contacted, Senior Superintendent Khali Pareshram stated that the 22-year-old man is expected to make his appearance before the court in the new week.
Stabroek News had reported that Smith, 36, of ‘C’ Field Reserve Dam, Sophia, was attacked by a 22-year-old known suspect, who was armed with a knife, at about 6.30 pm.
According to a Guyana Police Force, a scuffle ensued between the two men after which the suspect dealt Smith three stabs – to his chest, lower abdomen and above his left knee. Smith succumbed to the multiple stab injuries.
