CARICOM Secretary General Irwin LaRocque has written Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing appreciation for New Delhi’s donation of 500,000 COVID-19 vaccines to the region.
In the letter dated February 11th and seen by Stabroek News, LaRocque said “This gesture of solidarity and goodwill towards the people of the Community at the height of the humanitarian crisis brought about by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic is deeply appreciated. It is also a reflection of the strong bonds of friendship that exist between the Caribbean Community and India”.
