Cricketers from Essequibo are set to participate in two T20 tournaments beginning today with the resumption of the South, Central and North T20 tournament.
This competition is currently in its fourth round.
In today’s matches, Rising Stars will play Golden Fleece at the Pomona Ground from 09.30 hours followed by Scheme Gunners taking on Devonshire Castle Sports Club at 13.30 hours.
The action will also be played at the Imam Bacchus Ground where the host team will face Sparwin at 09.30 hours followed by Reliance Sports Club locking horns with Charity Sports Club at 13.30 hours.
Next Sunday will see eight matches in the fifth round.
At the Pomona Ground, Jaguars over-40 will battle United Warriors while New Opportunity Corps Sports Club will take on Cotton Field Strikers in the afternoon.
Lima Ground will host Rebels XI and Crown XI in the morning with Lima United and Reliance Hustlers battling in the afternoon.
At the Affiance Ground, Affiance will take on Jaguars; Aurora Knight Riders will play Walton Hall; Spartan will oppose Queenstown at Golden Fleece while, at Walton Hall Ground, WD Gunners will battle Young Achievers.
In the U-19 competition, the long awaited Devon Ramnauth T20 under-19 tournament will bowl off on Saturday with six teams battling for supremacy.
The tournament was set to bowl off earlier this year but due to the rainy season and COVID-19, it was postponed.
At the Pomona Ground, Rising Stars Spartans will take on United Warriors from 10.00 hours while over at the Imam Bacchus Ground, Essequibo Eagles Under-19 will face Golden Fleece Vikings Youths at 09.30 hours followed by the clash between Reliance Hustlers Youths and Queenstown Under-19 at 13.30 hours.
The tournament will see four rounds of action before the playoffs and final on March 20.
