A Corentyne man was on Saturday evening admitted to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene at the Number 19 Public Road.
The injured man has been identified as Parsram Mahadeo, 43, of Lot 83 Number 19 Village, East Coast Berbice.
Mahadeo has told investigators that he was on the public road when the motor car, swerved into his path and struck him, after which the car fled the scene.
The man was picked up by residents and relatives in a conscious state and rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was admitted.
His condition as of yesterday was listed as stable.
