GTT continues aid to Region 4 Health Department

The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) has extended its provision of a complimentary mobile plan to support the Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) Health Department as  essential workers there continue their efforts to remain connected to Covid-19 patients.

GTT’s Public Relations Manager, Jasmin Harris said in a release yesterday that the company is pleased to continue its support to the Department as “we all work together to flatten the curve of the Novel Coronavirus in Guyana.”

Regional Health Officer (RHO), Dr. Gavin Nash Persaud expressed gratitude to GTT for its continued provision of free mobile service.

“This special plan along with the phones we received from GTT, has really assisted the Department in tracking Covid-19 cases. We would like to thank the team at GTT for its continued commitment not only to our Department, but to the health care sector in Guyana,” Dr. Persaud said, according to the release.

In October 2020, the release said that GTT gifted the Region 4 Health Department with mobile phones, SIM cards and special mobile plans to connect with Covid-19 patients. The special mobile plan consists of 30 days of unlimited calling to patients with GTT numbers and an additional 200 minutes to contact patients with the other network. The plan also includes 3GB of data to enable WhatsApp calling.
