Dear Editor,
Today is the advertised date for the payment of government pensions for public servants. I am paid at the Agricola Post office. At 7.30am, I telephoned to enquire if payments were available. I was informed that while the paysheet was received, there was no cash and that I should check later. At 1pm, I arrived at the post office and was told by the post mistress, that “all de money done payout.” Could someone please tell me by whose authority, the post mistress can divert money intended specifically for pension payment? I find this situation totally untenable.
Yours truly,
Sylvia Conway
