At approximately 8:30 yesterday morning, a Trans Guyana Caravan aircraft (8RGAE) was forced to cancel one of its departure flights out of Kamarang when the aircraft encountered a minor mishap while goods and supplies were being offloaded from the aircraft, the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said.
GCAA said that reports suggested that the tail support slipped from beneath the aircraft. While no injuries were reported, a GCAA Airworthiness Inspector was dispatched to the airstrip who evaluated and subsequently cleared the aircraft to fly back to the Eugene F. Correia International Airport (EFCIA), Ogle with no baggage or passengers. The aircraft returned safely to EFCIA, GCAA said.
