Youth Cricket made a return to Berbice Saturday with over a dozen matches unfolding over the county in three separate tournaments.
West Berbice/Brian Ramphal U19…
In the lone match of the West Berbice/Brian Ramphal Under-19 50-overs-a-side tournament, Achievers defeated Paradise by a massive 259 runs Saturday.
Winning the toss and electing to bat at the Paradise Ground, West Berbice, Achievers posted an imposing 305 for nine from their full quota then bowled out the hosts for 46 in 12.4 overs.
Jayden Samuels top scored for Achievers with 67, hammering 10romari boundaries, batting at number seven.
The right-handed batsman added 130 for the ninth wicket with Shelton Ramsay who made 55, decorated with five fours and one six.
Collis Noble batted positively at the top of the order on his way to 54 which featured seven fours and two sixes while Omari Arthur (27) and Darius Joseph (17) lent good support.
Herman Semple was the principal wicket taker with four for 65 while off-spinner, Daniel Ramotar grabbed three wickets for 37 runs from 4.3 overs. Collis Charles chipped in with two wickets for 50 from his 10-over quota.
In reply, Samuels and Ramsay forged another partnership, this time with the ball, taking four wickets each for 16 and 17 runs respectively.
Blairmont and D’Edward were set to Cotton Tree but that contest will now take place today.

West Indies Under-15 player, Isai Thorne, stroked a fine century to help Rose Hall Canje defeat Mt. Sinai by 389 runs while East Bank Blazers handed Edinburgh a 41-run defeat Saturday.
Known for his fast bowling, Thorne showed his ability with the bat as he blasted 129 runs. His innings featured 13 fours and four sixes as he made his home ground of Rose Hall Canje look small.
Lloyd David pummeled 10 fours and five sixes on his way to 89 and shared in a 133-run second-wicket partnership with Avishkar Persaud who stroked four boundaries on his way to 46.
Persaud also added 60 for the opening partnership with Romario Ramdehol (10). Notably, national female youth cricketer, Ashmini Munisar finessed two boundaries on her way to 35.
For Mt. Sinai, Doree George picked up three for 50 while Stephon Sue Chang returned two wickets for 62 runs.
In the chase, Mt. Sinai were dismissed for 60 in 22.3 overs with Allister Persaud top scoring with 14. Medon Mentore and Andrew Bennett picked up three wickets for seven and 12 runs respectively while Aaron Craig captured 2-9.
Over at Edingburg, East Bank Blazers, batting first, posted 123 all out in 23.2 overs before containing Edingburgh to 82 all out in 20 overs.
Steve Sookram top scored with 16 while James Kesney and Jamal David scored 12 runs each for Edingburg. Wilfred Castello bagged three for 17 and Tyron Kendall two for 18.
In the chase, James Simpson rocked Edingburg taking seven wickets for 27 runs in eight overs. He was supported by Jake Kesney who took two for 19.

At the No.69 Red Rose Ground, No. 73 Young Warriors defeated newbies, No.69 Youth Club by 320 runs.
Young Warriors won the toss and batted, y posting 378 for five from their 40-over allotment before dismissing No.69 Youth Club for 58 in 18.1 overs.
Niraj Singh capitalized on bowling of No.69, playing in their first youth tournament, blasting 10 fours and five sixes in the top score of 112. He added 120 runs with Sarwan Chaitnarine who stroked seven fours and seven sixes during his 80-run innings.
Trevon Sukhu also scored a half-century, a shot-filled 70 in adding 113 runs for the second wicket with Singh. Khamesh Hector picked up three for 31.
In reply, Raul Jabbar bagged five wickets for 11 runs and was supported by Chaitnarine and Sukhu who took two wickets each.
Meanwhile at the No.72 Cut and Load Ground, Scottsburg defeated No.73 Radha Krishna Foundation by nine wickets.
No.73 won the toss and opted to bat but were bamboozled by off-spinners Sieraj Chatterpaul and Akthar Nahar.
No.73 were bowled out for 65 in 15 of their 40 overs with Chatterpaul taking five wickets for 20 runs. He was supported by Nahar who bagged four wickets for 18 runs. Ryan Dharie top scored with 30, decorated with four boundaries.
In reply, Chatterpaul returned to guide Scottsburg to 70 for one in 11.3 overs. He made 41 not out, highlighted by three sixes and two fours while Alameen Khan chipped in with 11.
