The burnt body of an unidentified man was found yesterday near the Huaxin Supermarket at Enmore, East Coast Demerara.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a statement stated that the body was found by Gopaul Seralall, 52, a Hope, East Coast Demerara painter who went to the supermarket to work.
According to the statement, at about 8.16 am Seralall discovered the body lying on the ground at the northern side of the building.
The police reviewed footage from CCTV cameras installed at the supermarket and nearby buildings and discovered that at approximately 2.46 am, the deceased and an identifiable man were having an argument.
The statement explained that the suspected killer was seen holding onto the deceased before pushing him to the northern side of the fence. He was later seen picking up empty cardboard boxes as he headed to the same area where he earlier pushed the deceased.
At about 3.12 am, the suspect lit a fire in the vicinity where the dead man was pushed.
The footage further showed the suspect picking up a bicycle and riding away in a western direction.
