The Ministry of Health yesterday reported that two more persons who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.
The latest fatalities are a 38-year-old male from Region Seven and a 79-year-old female from Region Four. Guyana’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 195.
On Wednesday, the Ministry reported that three persons had died while receiving care at a medical facility. A 65-year-old man, a 48-year-old from Region Four, and a 63-year-old from Region Three.
Meanwhile, 28 new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Guyana to 8,485 according to the Ministry of Health’s daily COVID-19 dashboard. The new cases emerged from 657 tests done yesterday. Region Four accounted for the majority of the cases with 17; Region Three had four new cases, Region Seven recorded one new case and regions Five, Nine and Ten each recorded two new cases.
