The police yesterday reported that a farmer who allegedly committed suicide was discovered with a semi-automatic pistol in his hand.
Dead is a 53-year-old man of Region Three, after he allegedly committed suicide at around 10:10 hrs yesterday. According to a police report, the deceased man lived with his wife and children and at 05:45 hrs yesterday, his wife went downstairs in their two-storey home in search of him but could not find him. She proceeded to call his cellphone but got no answer.
A check was then made at the family’s farm and his body was discovered lying on the ground facing upwards. Blood was observed coming from his mouth and a .32 semi-automatic pistol was seen in his hand. The body was taken to the hospital where the victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
The weapon has been lodged and a post-mortem is expected to be conducted soon.
Police investigations are ongoing.
