Insurance giants, Nalico/Nafico has come on board as the latest sponsors for today and tomorrow’s Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMRSC) Drag Race meet.
Through their representative, Azad Sulaiman, the company said that it is in it for the long haul.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Management and Staff of Nalico/Nafico, we would like to say that we are happy with everything that GMR&SC has been doing and we are proud of the initiative that they have been taking.”
He added, “We are extremely excited to see what is going to go down with the new strip and Team Mohamed’s Nissan GTRs.”
The club recently revealed that all protocols and registration are in place ahead of today’s first event.
Last weekend, drivers and riders took to the South Dakota track to get in their final preparation ahead of the two-day event.
Tickets are on sale and fans desirous of witnessing the action can get them at the GMR&SC Albert Street office at a cost of $2000 for adults and $500 for children. Meanwhile, VIP tickets cost $8000.
There will be mandatory wearing of masks for all competitors, mechanics and support staff as well as officials and the limited number of spectators.
For the fans who will be unable to be present at the venue, preparation has already started to have the event live streamed via E-networks.
There will also be strict penalties for those persons found in the venue not wearing masks or adhering to the COVID guidelines.
