After managing to elude law enforcers for almost five months, James Moore, the robbery convict who had escaped from the Lusignan Prison, was recaptured by the police yesterday morning.
Director of Prisons (ag) Nicklon Elliott confirmed that Moore was recaptured around 6.15am yesterday in ‘A’ Field, Sophia by police ranks.
At the time the police were conducting a cordon search exercise in the area.
Two other individuals were also arrested with Moore.
Moore, 23, of Lot 544 New Road, Dairy, and Dennis Street, Turkeyen had escaped on September 29th, 2020.
He was one of the 14 prisoners who were book-ed out from a Holding Bay to work at the Lusignan Prison kitchen. He was discovered to be missing around 4.30 pm.
Elliott said that Moore will be charged for escaping from lawful custody.
Police yesterday also conducted search exercises at Tiger Bay, Stabroek Market Square, Bourda Market and Cross Street, Werk-en-Rust.
