News-Talk Radio Guyana 103.FM has acquired the rights to broadcast on radio, commentary of all the cricket matches of the upcoming tour of the Caribbean by the Sri Lanka cricket team.
The Sri Lankans will play three T20, three ODIs and two test matches on their tour of the Caribbean which gets underway next week.
“We have entered the radio commentary scene at a time when there is a refreshing and renewed interest in the constantly improving performance of the West Indies,” Executive Chairman of News-Talk radio 103.1 FM Dennis Chabrol said.
According to Chabrol, from all indications, it seems as if News-talk Radio 103.1 FM will be the only radio station in Guyana, that will broadcast commentary on the matches.
He added that the station has also finalized arrangements to guarantee high quality commentary to its audience overseas and in the far flung remote regions of Guyana on computers, moble devices and on tables on livestream on www.bit.ly/newstalk 103.1.
The less than five year old radio station said that it welcomed the opportunity to be part of the game that has singularly united Caribbean peoples for centuries.
“News-Talk Radio Guyana 103.1FM assures listeners that the radio commentary will not be interrupted unnecessarily,” stated Chabrol.
The tour kicks off Wednesday with the first of three T20 internationals at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua with the second and third matches set for Friday and Sunday.
The three ODIs will be played March 10th, 12th and 14th while the first test will be played from March 21st-25th at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigu and the second test from March 29th to April 2nd.
