The eighteen-month-old Vryheid’s Lust toddler who was hit down while her father was reversing his car, succumbed to her in-juries yesterday morning.
The toddler, Adena Ramkissoon who was a patient in the ICU at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) was pronounced dead at 5.35am.
Mother of Adena, Sattie Narayan shared her shock at the child’s death having told this newspaper on Sunday that while she was admitted in a critical state, a few hours later she was told by doctors that the toddler was stable.
“Yesterday morning when me and me husband went back to visit, we did sitting in the car waiting for visiting hour to start. Then before I could go through security, my phone ring and the person said, the doctor want talk to we. Then when we go, they tell we she just die. They said they gave she all the medication they could give she but she still die. They said she had a cardiac arrest”, lamented the mother.
As stated in a police report, on Sunday morning, the toddler’s father, Danny Ramkissoon who is a taxi driver was about to leave home for work using his car when he reportedly felt as though the car had run over something.
The report further stated that the man then stopped the car, exited and upon checking found his daughter lying motionless under the left rear side of the car. The child was rushed to the hospital where she was admitted as a patient.
“I was cooking inside and she was eating. I spread a towel and put she to eat in the corner with her bowl. Then, she father answer the phone and said he going on a work and within two minutes after that, she father was by the door holding she in he hands telling me, she went behind the car and he ain’t see and he reverse. After that ah started screaming…”, the woman had told this newspaper on Sunday.
A post mortem is expected to be done tomorrow.
